The day after we arrived in Long Island, the line of cars waiting to buy gas was 8 blocks long, and that was only cars with license plates ending in odd numbers. As of yesterday, the lines have vanished. There are still felled trees and electrical cables needing cleanup all over NY, but the situation seems more or less normal for most people now.

We had a nice interview in the morning for Original Bad Girl with Nancy Meyer, friend of Nicole Hollander’s. Afterwards, while the other crew members had meetings, I walked 6.5 miles around Manhattan at a pace of 12.5 min per mile. Happy and exhausted, I enjoyed a visit to MoMA, the Museum of Modern Art.

Takeaways:

  • Camera: No matter how much you want to use strictly natural light, set up a light.

Laura Shields: “Ok, don’t look now. This time it really is a big spider and not a cricket.”

Caroline looks over a points, “That?”

Laura Shields: “No…not that. That’s a centipede.”

Needless to say, we had many creatures keep us company.
